This bonus episode came to mind to share as I was reflecting on the lyrics of the song "I Can Only Imagine," written by Bart Millard of the Christian music group MercyMe.
There is a confidence that isn't in us, isn't in our circumstances, isn't in even life itself... but only found in the Lord of lords and King of kings, Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
A couple of points I would like to highlight for this episode are also actually promises in the Word of Truth.
1) The Peace of God that surpasses all understanding WILL guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
2) Being transformed by the renewing of your mind requires consistent practice: Practice makes permanent. The confidence we find is not in our own understanding. What does the Word say?
3) Not being conformed to the world includes the ways, beliefs, perspectives, definitions, societal norms, cultures, and other temporal things that are here one moment and gone the next.
4) Eternal and temporal are two very different ways of existing. How your existing? In Him, we live, move, and have our being.
Lyrics to I Can Only Imagine
I can only imagine what it will be like
When I walk by Your side
I can only imagine what my eyes will see
When Your face is before me
I can only imagine, yeah

Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You, Jesus
Or in awe of You be still?

Will I stand in Your presence
Or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?

I can only imagine
I can only imagine

I can only imagine when that day comes
And I find myself standing in the sun/son
I can only imagine when all I will do
Is forever—forever worship You
*Repeat Chorus and Tags*
