Spencer - Biopic as a Stealth Horror Movie #035

In this episode, King Sanjeet returns with Dhruv and regular collaborators Aryan and Amartya to discuss Pablo Larrain's unique take on Princess Diana in the critically acclaimed "Spencer" starring Kristen Stewart. Three out of the four love the film, praising the Chilean director's psychological horror take on the biopic. Specifically, they praise Stewart's stellar performance, Jonny Greenwood's mercurial score, and Claire Mathon's "The Shining"-style camerawork that, collectively, provide an eerily experiential take on a woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown. However, the contrarian feels that the script's literalness undermines most of these directorial virtues.
