We will spoil matches and tournaments we talk about, so listen at your own risk.

In Starcraft 2 News (34:51)

Controversy has struck again in the world of SC2 eSports as Puck, a very well known and skilled Protoss player, has just found out that he probably won’t be able to play in the WCS this year, which might end up being his retirement.

After the first Qualifiers for WCS this year, Blizzard put out their handbook of rules that dictate requirements to play in WCS. Most of them were the same, however because of state laws in the US that were not previously considered, a couple states have been banned from the tournament.

For instance, North Dakota, where Puck lives, has been banned because of a law that prevents a competition where you have to pay a sponsor in order to collect a prize from them. Since you need to buy Starcraft 2 to play in the Blizzard run tournament this falls under that law.

Puck took to his twitter to explain the situation. he went on record saying, “It is really unfortunate how Blizzard took their time to release the hand book after all qualifiers are over just to find out that certain states will be banned. I live right across the river from Minnesota, had they released the handbook even a month or two prior, I could

already be halfway to applying for my residency in Minnesota”. He went on to say that he invested so much time into this season, and with the fact he legally can’t even collect the money he already won, he probably will stop being a pro player.

A Reddit thread has popped up pleading that Blizzard let Puck rectify the situation and let him continue competing, considering they put out the updated entry rules after entries were closed.

In Dota 2 News (37:19)

Group Stages for Season 3 of the Dota Pit League will have just gotten underway as of yesterday for you listeners. Prize pool is sitting at $80,000 right now, which is a sizable chunk of cash. In Group A are teams EG, Cloud9, VirtusPro Polar, FireDota, TeamTinker, and NiP. And in Group B, the teams are Secret, Empire, VirtusPro, Hellraisers, Alliance, and Vega.

Also in progress are the qualifiers for the Major All Stars Dota Tournament in EU and America. In America, teams FireDota, Wheel Whreck While Whistling, Union Gaming, Complexity, Void Boy, Leviathan, eHug, and Not Today are fighting to continue to the main event. Most of these teams are pretty unknown, so it will be interesting to see if we have any break-out teams coming out of that group.

Meanwhile in the EU qualifiers, teams Empire 4 Anchors, PowerRangers, NiP, VirtusPro Polar, TeamTinker, Hellraisers, and Meepwn’d will be fighting it out, a much more well known line-up then what is coming from America. Tournament games will be streamed on Twitch Tv on the BTS TV channel.

Finally Asia Championships have concluded with Evil Geniuses winning out against Vici Gaming, and securing the $1.2 million grand prize. The tournament started out with only a $250,00 prize pool, but with compendium purchases the prize pool was raised to a whooping $3 million. It is amazing that more and more tournaments are raising such large prize pool through fan donations alone.

The StarLadder Tournament is currently in its 2nd Group Stage with EnvyUs, NiP, Hellraisers, Titan, TeamSolomid, Flipside, Virtus Pro, and CPH Wolves. If you want to listen to the English casting of the game you should check out the FACE IT Twitch channel.

ESL One Katowice is this weekend, and it is bringing out some of the big names like Cloud9, Dignitas, Titan, and Team Liquid. What is more exciting however are the smaller names that are popping up, and teams such as Vox Eminor, Gamers2, Flipsid3, and PiTER.

There is a good chance for a team to make a name for themselves at ESL One Katowice, so you should probably check out this tournament. If you want to watch the tournament you should tune in to ESLTV_CS or ESLone on twitch tv.
