No exemption from hotel quarantine except arrivals from ‘Green List’ states


All travellers arriving in Qatar from countries not on the green list, which is the low-risk list. Will need to undergo hotel quarantine starting February 14th. There will be no exceptions.

 

Action against 811 for flouting COVID protocol 

Yesterday saw 786 people being prosecuted for not wearing masks in places where they are mandatory. And 25 for violating the maximum number of four people allowed in a vehicle, including the driver, except when they are members of one family.

 

Five more outlets shut for violating COVID protocol 


The Ministry of Commerce and Industry yesterday closed five more commercial establishments in Qatar for violating COVID-19 preventative measures. The five establishments are Jesco Fitness – F45 in the Pearl, Home City Trading in Al Wakra, Dieter Consulting Services in Ain Khaled,  Annabi Cafateria 92 in Souq Waqif, and  Al Rawnaq Trading Company in the Old Airport area. On Wednesday, the ministry also shutdown Safari Mall in Abu Hamour.

 

65 year old Qatari citizen beats COVID-19 after 144 day battle 

An inpatient since September last year, the gentleman was discharged from Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital after a 144 day battle against COVID-19 complications, thanks to the high quality of intensive care provided.  

 

On to today's weather. There's a Met Department warning that there’s going to be low visibility in places at the start of the day.

Misty to foggy in places at first becoming moderate temperature later with some clouds and slight dust in places, it will be cold by tonight 

Doha will see temperatures between 17 and 28 degrees. Today's lowest temperature will be in Dukhan, Abu Samra and Messaid all of which will see temperatures as low as 13 degrees.

 

Now today’s COVID update.

In the last 24-hour period, active cases of COVID-19 have increased by 171, to 7,920.

10,443 COVID-19 tests were performed, and 4.29% of those tested positive.

Of those testing positive 57 were travellers who are now in quarantine.
