Episode 25 sees Liam at the Signature Brew Brewery in east London talking to one of the founders, Sam McGregor (the other being Tom Bott).

So why talk to Signature Brew? Well, not only is Signature Brew run by a team of punk and ska loving people, the company has a ‘punk’ ethos at its core (you will hear more about that in our chat). The brewery has also played its part in supplying and creating beers for some of the biggest and best punk festivals up and down the UK like; SlamDunk, Manchester Punk Festival, Arc Tan Gent and 2000 Trees. But it’s probably best known for creating collaboration beers with artists like Frank Turner, The Skints, The Hold Steady, Slaves,  Millencolin, Mastodon, Heck and Enter Shikari (just to name a few).

Liam and Sam of course talk beer (you will quickly discover that Liam knows to fuck all about beer and that Sam knows a lot!). They discuss warm breakfast beers at festivals, the craft beer company that divides opinions - BrewDog and Sam explain how the US beer, Sierra Nevada, was a beer game changer.

It's not all about the beer; Sam’s other love is punk and ska music. Sam happens to have played trumpet in a few ska bands in his past and makes a link between the two industries (music and beer).

Lastly, Liam and Sam talk about the punk bands that Signature Brew have already worked with, how much input these bands have in the creation of their beer (gravy beer anyone?) and Sam discusses artists he would like to work with in 2019.

Looking forward to 2019, Signature Brew is looking to move to a new state-of-the-art brewhouse so they can treble capacity as well as open two new taprooms to showcase their beers and put on live gigs. To do this they need money and have therefore set up a crowd cube page where you, the listener, can invest as little as £10 or up to £25,000,000 into Signature Brew’s long-term venture. If this is something you would like to know more about then clink the link or go to www.signaturebrew.co.uk for more information on how you can invest in the future of Signature Brew.

This week’s band hail from San Diego, California. They’re called ‘Watashi Wa Dance Party’ and their track 'Really Over' from their new E.P. Skate Pop Suicide plays out the show.
