Episode sixty-nine kicks off PsychotroniCast’s 3rd Annual Blaxploitation Month with one of the most iconic films from this genre, Shaft. Released in 1971, this was the first Hollywood financed Blaxploitation movie. Spawning four sequels (the fifth to be released this summer) and a theme that is one of the most recognizable in movie history. Directed by Gordon Parks, an acclaimed photographer for Life magazine from the 1940’s-60’s and starring Richard Roundtree in his first on screen roll.
