Episode 39. Technicolour Dream

This episode will feature music by the bands who played at the first important pop music festival in England. The 14 hour Technicolour Dream was the first major underground event in England. it took place on April 29, 1967 at the Alexandra Palace. The objective of the event was to raise funds for the underground newspaper, The International Times, who's offices had been raided by the police in an intimidation tactic to shut down the paper. The paper was gaining influence with the emerging Hippie movement in England. The Technicolour Dream was a multi media event that had rock bands, poets, artists displaying their works and alot of fun activities. It was a success and the paper raised the money to keep operating and to cover court expenses. The attendees wanted more Happenings and the Summer of Love had just begun.
