D-Day June 6th 1944, marked the allied invasion of Nazi occupied France. Omaha Beach was home to one of the toughest fights during the WWII invasion. That day, barrel chested freedom fighters from the United States, Britain, and Canada stormed the beaches of Normandy, bringing the fight to Hitler. Amongst the madness of war that took place, CPL John Joseph Pinder Jr. went above and beyond the call of duty, sacrificing his life for his fellow soldiers and mission. His actions on Bloody Omaha, earned him the posthumous award of the Medal of Honor. May he forever be remembered, for his actions have cemented his name in history. This is his story.
