Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills have taken a lot of turnover in recent years. Switching head coaches, quarterbacks, and personnel. The Bills haven't been a complete mess, but they haven't been good. The first discussion on the podcast comes with the talent around their quarterback Josh Allen.

Josh Allen was drafted by the Buffalo Bills with the number seven overall pick in the draft a season ago. He threw for ten touchdowns and twelve interceptions and had a 5-6 record. It was not an excellent year for Allen, but he also didn't have the most exceptional talent around him. So how did the Bills fix that in the offseason you ask? They sign Cole Beasley, Frank Gore, and draft Cody Ford in the second round. Now the latter of that sentence is not the worst pick. However, Beasley and Gore aren't "flashy." Gore had a very successful year with the Miami Dolphins last season, and that is undeniable. The only issue is that he is on the wrong side of thirty and playing for another lousy offensive line. Take into account that LeSean McCoy had a down year last season and the running backs aren't high.

Cole Beasley was an okay signing. The Buffalo Bills did themselves an excellent job by getting a nice slot guy for their young quarterback with great hands. As much as people hated on the signing, Beasley has steady hands while catching 70.9% of the balls thrown his way. He isn't flashy and could have issues adjusting to a new quarterback like Josh Allen, but if the right pieces fit, then, it could be fun to watch.

Sean McDermott

The defensive head coach had a great 2018 defensive year. Eric states in the podcast that he should be on the hot seat this season. After a 9-7 record as a rookie head coach and then a 6-10 season last year, Eric fears he will get the Adam Gase treatment.

Everyone knows that Adam Gase is a New York Jet now. Even typing that makes me sick (me as in Kai'Chien Chisholm). As many remember, Gase took the Miami Dolphins to the playoffs in his rookie coaching season then went 6-10 and 7-9. This was not a guarantee to be fired, however, Gase proved he could do it with less and then didn't show up. Sean McDermott is going to need to prove himself this year with a record higher than 6-10 for Eric to believe that he should keep his job.

Questions from the podcast team

Are the Buffalo Bills doing an excellent job in surrounding their young quarterback Josh Allen? Should head coach Sean McDermott be on the hot seat this season? Will the defense be the hot topic of this Bills team in the 2019-2020 season?
