~1 in 20 neurosurgeons are female. Of those very few are black! Recently, Dr. Venita Simpson became the first black woman to graduate neurosurgery residency from Baylor College of Medicine since its inception in the 1950s.

In this (one of my favorite episodes) we candidly discuss Dr. Simpson's journey in medicine. She shares her triumphs and shortcomings. She gives us rare insight on what it means to exude excellence despite the fact that you are and look different than your peers.
