PA500 Psalm 71:1-24 mp3

In this message, the psalmist explores God’s servant continuing to follow Him in old age. This may have been David speaking in his own old age after Solomon’s second coronation, as Bullinger suggests, or else David in his youth writing about and commemorating his old mentor Samuel, who also served God into his elder years, as David watched. The Psalmist speaks of following God from his youth, and now desires that Yahweh will not forsake him when he has reached old age. His enemies imagined they could now get the best of him, but he continued to wait on Jehovah. He will yet increase his greatness in a future day of resurrection.
