In this message, we continue our study of Psalm 2. The psalmist declares the decree by which David got the sonship. He was given the nations, to rule over them with a rod of iron. The nations are called on to renew their fealty to God’s chosen. Then, as we begin the study of Psalm 3, we consider this first psalm with Divine titles. What are these Divine titles? Are they just meaningless musical notation, or do they have a much more important meaning? Then, Psalm 3 was written at the time of David’s flight from the rebellion of his son Absalom. However, we argue this foreshadows the flight from the antichrist and his “abomination of desolation” that will take place in the tribulation period, of which David will take part. We consider the psalm in this light.
