So this week we are praying our kids will believe in themselves. I want my kids to see themself the way I see them and more importantly the way God sees them.

ACTION STEPS:

1) Pay attention to the words you are speaking over your kids, do they encourage or belittle? Do you need to change what you are saying in the day-to-day conversations with your kids?

2) Pay attention to the words your kids are saying about themself, help give them positive things to replace any negative thoughts and words.

3) Take the pressure off yourself and your kids to be perfect. Mistakes are going to be made, God knows this and he still made a way for us to be with Him forever. Failure is not bad, it's an opportunity to learn.

4) Ask your kids more questions than offering solutions. Listen more than you speak.

FOCUSED PRAYER:

Father, Thank you for the beautiful gift you have given me as a mother of these children. Help me speak life-giving words to them as I guide them through each season of life. I am in awe of the love you have for me and my family. You know every move, good and bad we will make and yet you still make a way for us to be with you for eternity. Help me make the best of every opportunity I have as a mother to teach my kids to believe in the person you have created them to be and the path you have set out before them. Show me the root of my child's insecurities and doubts so that I can help weed out what is not from you and build up the confidence in the gifts you have given them. Teach my kids that their strength and courage to be whom you have created them to be comes from you.

In Jesus Name, Amen!

SCRIPTURES TO PRAY THIS WEEK:

Deuteronomy 30:6

“The Lord your God will change your heart and the hearts of all your descendants so that you will love him with all your heart and soul and so you may live!

Deuteronomy 30:9-14

9 “The Lord your God will then make you successful in everything you do. He will give you many children and numerous livestock, and he will cause your fields to produce abundant harvests, for the Lord will again delight in being good to you as he was to your ancestors. 10 The Lord your God will delight in you if you obey his voice and keep the commands and decrees written in this Book of Instruction, and if you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and soul. 11 “This command I am giving you today is not too difficult for you, and it is not beyond your reach. 12 It is not kept in heaven, so distant that you must ask, ‘Who will go up to heaven and bring it down so we can hear it and obey?’ 13 It is not kept beyond the sea, so far away that you must ask, ‘Who will cross the sea to bring it to us so we can hear it and obey?’ 14 No, the message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart so that you can obey it.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20

19 “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! 20 You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

Matthew 8:24-27

24 Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” 26 Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm. 27 The disciples were amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked. “Even the winds and waves obey him!”

John 15:1-8

1“I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. 3 You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. 4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. 5 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. 6 Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. 7 But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! 8 When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.
