Praying For A Good Family Environment_Day 1

This week we are praying that we take off the fire suit and let God be the one to put out the fires.

 

This allows us time and peace to create an environment in our family that everyone wants to be part of. 

 

This is not an easy task, but it is necessary for the sake of your family. 

 

Day 1: Are you tired of always putting out fires?  

Philippians 4:8

 

Day 2: You aren't alone in the fire!

Daniel 3

 

Day 3: Look for the good!

Philippians 4:8 and Ephesians 6

 

Day 4: God is training you!

Philippians 4:11-20 and Ephesians 6

 

ACTION STEPS:

 

Ask God to help you see the good happening in your family, and find something to be grateful for in your family every day. 

 

When your kids have an issue, step back and let them solve the problem. Ask questions if necessary instead of telling them what to do. (I know this is very hard for some of us.)

 

What does your family enjoy doing? Make a list. If you don't know, ask. Find things that everyone has in common. 

 

Start small and plan 30 minutes a week doing a fun family activity.

Jesus, 

 

Thank you for the family you have given me. I want my house to be a place of safety, peace, and love. I know I spend my days trying to fix everyone else's problems and have a hard time enjoying this life you have blessed me with. Help me take off the fire suit and let you be God, trusting that you will take care of the things I can't and shouldn't. I trust you will use every situation my kids go through to draw them closer to you and place them on the path you have for them. I will start looking for the good and focus on that. 

 

In Jesus' Name, Amen!
