So this week we are asking God to help us recognize all the good things we do to help our family survive and thrive in this world.

Then we are praising God for giving us those gifts. The gift of our family, the gift of motherhood, and the gifts and talents in each of us.

ACTION STEPS:

1) Ask God to help you recognize ways you show up for your family every day that you (and them) may take for granted.

2) Give yourself GOLD stars all week. Every task you do, grab the gold star, put it in its place, and say out loud...Thank you God for this gift.

3) Ask your kids what you've done for them that they really love or appreciate about you. DO MORE OF THAT!

4) Listen this week to Prayers From a Mom Podcast and join me in praying for this each day. You can also listen to Enjoying Your Blended Family and hear us talk on this important topic.

FOCUSED PRAYER:

Father, Why am I so hard on myself? I beat myself up for the things I do wrong, but I struggle to celebrate all that I do that is right. Help me recognize the many things I do that help my family function and succeed every day. Show me all the ways I am like the noble/virtuous Proverbs 31 woman. Thank you for entrusting me with my children and giving me the ability and resources to care for their needs. Lord, I give you all the glory because in my own strength I am weak but you make me strong.

In Jesus Name, Amen!

SCRIPTURES TO PRAY THIS WEEK:

Matthew 24:45-47

45 “A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them. 46 If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward. 47 I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns.

Matthew 25:14-23

14 “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone. 15 He gave five bags of silver to one, two bags of silver to another, and one bag of silver to the last—dividing it in proportion to their abilities. He then left on his trip.

Proverbs 31:10-31 A Wife of Noble Character

(I personalized the scripture with the word 'you' instead of she/her)

10 Who can find a virtuous and capable wife/mother? You are more precious than rubies. 11 Your husband can trust you, and you greatly enrich his life. 12 You bring him good, not harm, all the days of your life. 13 You find wool and flax and busily spins it. 14 You are like a merchant’s ship, bringing food from afar. 15 You get up before dawn to prepare breakfast for your household and plan the day’s work for your servant girls. 16 You go to inspect a field and buy it; with your earnings, you plant a vineyard. 17 You are energetic and strong, a hard worker. 18 You make sure your dealings are profitable; your lamp burns late into the night. 19 Your hands are busy spinning thread, your fingers twisting fiber. 20 You extend a helping hand to the poor and open your arms to the needy. 21 You have no fear of winter for your household, for everyone has warm clothes. 22 You make your own bedspreads. You dress in fine linen and purple gowns 23 Your husband is well known at the city gates, where he sits with the other civic leaders. 24 You make belted linen garments and sashes to sell to the merchants. 25 You are clothed with strength and dignity, and you laugh without fear of the future. 26 When you speak, your words are wise, and you give instructions with kindness. 27 You carefully watch everything in your household and suffer nothing from laziness. 28 Your children stand and bless you. Your husband praises you: 29 “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!” 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised. 31 You will be rewarded for all you have done. Your deeds publicly declare your praise.
