So this week we are asking God to show us what that looks like. I don't have the right answers, but with prayer and reading God's word I know we can get a better understanding of how Jesus did this so well.

ACTION STEPS:

1) Acknowledge your kids when they walk in the room with a smile and hello. Give hugs and kisses when appropriate.

2) Ask God to help you understand what your kids are going through. (The things you see and don't see.)

3) Be a good listener. Your kids don't need you to solve all of their problems, they need to know you care enough to hear them.

4) Listen to Prayers From a Mom Podcast this week and pray along with us as we pray to be more empathetic with our kids.

FOCUSED PRAYER:

Father,

I know you know everything that your kids are going through, and my kids are your kids. Give me your same emphatic feeling toward them. Help me not only sympathize with my kids but also understand sharing those feelings and taking the appropriate actions when needed. Thank you for the opportunity you will give me to show empathy. I know this is not a comfortable thing when we take on someone else's emotions, but I come to you putting on the whole armor of God so that I can withstand the weight of my kid's hurt. I want my kids to feel seen, heard, and understood by me. Help me model this in a healthy way so that I can show them you as their source of strength, healing, and peace.

In Jesus Name, Amen!
