Next Episode: Are You Tired?_Day 3

This week we discussed the importance of rest for ourselves and our family. We study what the word says about rest and the Sabbath.

This Weeks Prayer:

Father,

Thank you for being such a good Father that you know what I need even when I don't. You designed us from the beginning to work and to rest. Give me and my family a deeper understanding of the Sabbath. Help us use that day to honor you, get the rest we need, and enjoy time with our family and friends. But Lord, if someone is in need, I pray that it doesn't matter what day of the week it is, I am willing to step up and follow the example you gave us in the gospels. Let my family be your hands and feet in this world.

I pray this in Jesus' name, amen.

Scriptures to Pray This Week:

Genesis 2:1-3 NLT:

So the creation of the heavens and the earth and everything in them was completed. 2 On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work. 3 And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation.

Exodus 20:8-10 NLT:

Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 You have six days each week for your ordinary work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you.

Exodus 23:12 NLT:

You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but on the seventh day you must stop working. This gives your ox and your donkey a chance to rest. It also allows your slaves and the foreigners living among you to be refreshed.

Mark 2:27:

Then Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath."
