Dr Stephanie Perrin led the drafting initiative that resulted in Canada's first piece of privacy legislation to cover the private sector, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). PIPEDA came into force in 2001 and is still in effect today. POWER PLAY's Ayden FĂ©rdeline hears the story behind the development of that law.
