Demons - are they real? Charles Baudelaire said “The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn’t exist.” Imagine a scenario where something IS real - and dangerous - but is not taken seriously.
Today’s passage talks about the reality of a spiritual world that - unfortunately - too many people living in the modern western world either doesn’t know exists OR is woefully misinformed about it.
The errors lie in either having no clue that there is a spiritual realm that exists alongside this material world, OR if there IS an understanding of that realm it’s either not taken seriously OR it’s feared. None of these attitudes towards the reality of Satan and this spiritual war that is raging is what God has intended for His people.
So let’s turn to Luke 11 to see what is happening in this event in Jesus’ ministry.
