If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around, would it make a noise? If PBCC were to close its doors this week and cease to exist as a church – would anyone notice?
That’s a haunting question, isn’t it? At the heart of that question lies our purpose and identity as a church. Are we making a difference at all in our community? Is the gospel giving people hope? Are we sharing the love of Christ with the world? If this tree fell, would it make a noise?
Often when you look at the letters in the New Testament written to various churches, you see the common issues churches have always dealt with because you’re dealing with people with issues. So when you get to a church like the one I want us to look at in the next several weeks, it’s refreshing to see something a bit different.
