ADVENT 2020 - A White Christmas Week 4: THE GREAT WHITE THRONE

Church - you know I tend to not be a hellfire and brimstone preacher. I believe that when you give people a taste of the Lord they will see for themselves that He is good, and then their decision to accept Jesus in order to make things right with their Creator is based on God’s goodness and kindness and the amazing Kingdom He has called us to live in - both here and in eternity. I don’t like to talk about salvation as mere “fire insurance,” because it doesn’t make sense to me to scare people into the Kingdom of God…

BUT - I would be remiss if I didn’t talk about a reality that became a reality BECAUSE of the birth of Jesus. You see because Jesus came to the earth, we now have a choice. Will we accept him as Lord, worshiping and offering our bodies as living sacrifices - or will we reject and oppose the Kingdom of God and His Son?

There is this item in scripture that is also white. Remember, this is a WHITE CHRISTMAS sermon series. We saw the white light, the white lamb, the white snow, which our sins have been washed as clean as… Those are the beautiful white things. But now here is a GREAT WHITE THRONE, and at that throne we see this decision of accepting or rejecting Christ played out into eternity.
