Christ's Final Miracle

The Lord Jesus Christ wrought many, many miracles during His public ministry. We are told about His final miracle before He went to the cross.

A Summons Edged in Black

How sad that many only live for time and never think or make preparation for eternity. The dear Lord Jesus told a parable about such an individual who who was suddenly called out to meet God.

Hearing the Heartbeat of God

Every true Christian wants to live neared to their Saviour. One of the Lord's disciples was so close that he leaned on the bosom of his Saviour.

Shut in or Shut Out

The Lord has told that He will return again one day. It is important that we are prepared for His coming, then, there will be those shut out of heaven or shut in.

The Precious Blood

Of all the blood shed in the Old Testament sacrifices none of them could remove one sin. But Christ came into the word, she'd blood that is able to cleanse from all sin.

The Call of God

The Lord has His people everywhere, and He will save them and call them to serve Him. Before He saves them in salvation He already has a work for them to do.

The Mid Night Caller

The Lord had many things to teach His disciples about prayer. He always gave them encouragements regarding prayer. One such encouragement was to persevere in prayer, it has its rewards.

Humility in Prayer

The Saviour makes it very clear that there is no place for pride in the prayers of His people. The expects His people to approach Him with humility.

The Value of a Soul

the critics were always murmuring against the Saviour because He show an interest in poor lost souls. the Lord told a parable to illustrate the value of a soul and applied it to His critics.

Oh how I Love Jesus

The Lord Jesus said that the person who has been forgiven much will love much. That was certainly true with regard to the woman who had been a great sinner, when Christ forgave her, she demonstrated her love for her Saviour in a wonderful way.

Preaching Christ

When called upon by the Jewish leaders to tell them what he believed, Paul took the opportunity to preach Christ unto them. That is the only message that should be preached to sinners, and it is the message that glorifies the Lord in the salvation of souls.

Victory over the Viper

The devil can attack God's people at any time and anywhere. It is important that we be sober and watchful at all times even when we are engaged in some innocent activity. The apostle Paul discovered that, but the Lord gave him the victory over the viper.

Christ the Solid Rock

When building for eternity, it is important that we build on a sure foundation. Indeed, the only sure and secure foundation is Christ, to build one anyone else or anything else, would be a disaster.

Peace in the Storm

When we are called upon to go through the storms of life, it is good to have friend who will be there with us. Such a Friend is the Lord Jesus Christ, who will be with His people in all the storms of life.

The Preciousness of Christ

When the unconverted look upon our Saviour, they do not see anything in Him that would make Him precious to them. The moment a sinner is saved by the blood of Christ, immediately He becomes precious to them.

Many events in life are used to bring sinners to Christ. The Scriptures tell of a man who was curious about the identity of the Lord Jesus, and his curiosity was the means of his salvation.

Almost but not Quite

After listening to the Spirit anointed witness of Paul, king Agrippa revealed to the Apostle, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. But Agrippa was not as near the kingdom as he thought.

The Problem Solved

The Lord's disciples were presented with a problem, how to feed a multiple of people with very little food. It was only when they committed the problem into the Lord's hands that the problem was solved.

Amazing Grace

Knowing what the Apostle Paul was before his conversation, it could only be the grace of God that saved him. From one who persecuted the saints, he became one who preached to sinners, all of grace.

A Silent Sermon

After Peter denied his Saviour, we are told that the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Not a word was spoken by the Lord, but that look spoke volumes.

Resurrection Morning

Wonderful we're the events that surrounded the rising of the Lord Jesus from the tomb. There was joy and uncertainty, but victory.

Evangelism

There are many portions in God's word which tells us that we are to spread the good news of the gospel. It is good to be able to tell the unconverted that Christ died for sinners and that He rose victorious over the grave.

Almost Persuaded

Such an ungodly man was Felix, yet he want Paul the apostle to tell him more about faith in Christ. After Paul had ministered to him, it seemed that Felix was almost persuaded to be Christian.

Silver or Salvation

When a young man came to Christ to enquire about eternal life, things looked promising that he would receive Christ as Saviour. That was until the Lord pointed out to him that riches was his god, and he could not serve two masters. He had to choose between his silver or salvation, he made the wrong choice.

The Loyalty of the Lord

During one of the darkest times in the ministry of the Apostle Paul, when it seemed that all friends had forsaken him, the Lord was found standing by him. That was a wonderful example of the loyalty of the Lord.

The Healing Touch

As the Saviour was passing by, a woman who had been suffering for twelve years, made her way to Him, and touched the hem of His garment and was healed immediately. This woman sets an example for all who suffer from the plague of sin.

The Look of Compassion

Throughout the gospel of Mark, reference is often made to the looks of the Lord. There is always deep meaning in those looks, and they have much to teach us about the Saviour.

A Courageous Christian

When he was converted, the Lord revealed to him that he must suffer many things for the name of his Lord and Saviour. Those prophetic word were fulfilled over and over again as Paul served his Master. Going through such suffering, Paul needed much strength and certainly he needed to be very courageous.

The Power of God's Word

Wherever the apostle Paul went to preach the gospel, and churches were established, he exhorted the elders to feed the flock by preaching the word of God. Having a sound knowledge of the word, would prevent the congregation from being flooded by false teachers.

Sowing the Gospel Seed

The Lord told the parable about the sower going out to sow. From that parable we are encouraged to go forth and sow the good seed of the gospel. Anyone can be a sower.

A Faithful Preacher

That people are blessed who have the opportunity to sit under the faithful preaching of the word of God. The apostle Paul was such a preacher, he was a faithful and he was a fearless servant of the Lord, may the Lord raise up more preachers like Paul.

Sold out to God. Pt.2

Looking at the life of Paul, we see a man who lived for his Lord a man who was sold out to God. As a result he saw great things done for his Lord.

A Prayer that Raised the Dead

Elijah was a man of prayer, a man who saw great things done by God in answer to his prayers. Although, no one had seen the dead raised to life before the prophet prayed, he believed that God could and would raise the dead in answer to his prayer.

Sold Out to God

The Apostle Paul was a man who lived for his Lord and had a burning desire to spread the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. He travelled many miles to tell forth the good news. He was joined from time to time by others, who had a burden also for souls. Paul and the others who helped him, were sold out to God.

Let the Fire Fall

Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal as to who was the true God of Israel. He not only confronted them but he confounded them, when God answered his prayer and sent down fire from heaven. Today we need the Lord to send us the fire of revival, and confound all of the false gods of today.

Sports that Kill

The Philistines had put out the eyes of Samson, and wanted him to make them sport in the temple of their false god. He made them sport, but it was a sport that killed them.

A Hunger for the Word of God

It is always encouraging to meet with a people who have a hunger for the word of God. They want to be fed and have a desire to study the Scriptures for themselves.

Prayer that Stopped the World

There are many examples of amazing answers to prayer found in Scripture. One such example was the day that Joshua called upon the Lord to cause the sun to stand still in the heavens, God answered that prayer.

Go Through with God

When engaged in the work of God, we face many difficulties that Satan puts in our way to hinder us. But there is a great need to ask the Lord to carry on with the work, and to go on and go through with God, and finish the work He has given us to do for Him.

Personal Revival

We often pray for the Lord to work by His Holy Spirit and send revival to our land. But more often than not it is personal revival we need. Athe revival of our prayer life, revival of our study of God's word, a revival of our desire for a holy life.

Prayer and Providance

We know that God moves in mysterious ways His wonders to perform. It is amazing to see the Lord work providentially in full agreement with the prayers of God's people.

A Cry from the Belly of Hell

When Jonah was in the fish's belly, he described his experience as being in hell, or the grave. Jonah then cried our to the Lord from the belly of hell.

Singing in the Fire

After suffering horrendous cruelty at the hands of the enemies of the gospel, Paul and Silas were cast into prison. Even though they would have been suffering terrible pain, yet they were able to pray and sing praises unto God. They were able to sing in the fires of affliction.

The Untrodden Pathway

As Joshua was chosen by God, to lead the Children of Israel in to the promised land, he was told that he had not been that way before. As we enter 2022 we are embarking on a path that we have not been on before, and we need the Lord to show us the way.

God With Us

Al of the names given to the Lord Jesus Christ, tell us something about His person. The name Emmanuel, which only appears three times in Scripture, means, God with us, and is a great source of encouragement.

Satan in a Rage

We know that Satan hates God and His word and the preaching of it. When through the preaching of the word, souls are saved then Satan will often fly into a rage, and then God's servants suffer.

A Man who Prayed in his Sleep

We are exhorted to pray without ceasing, but who would have thought of anyone praying in their sleep. Yet, the scriptures speak of such a man, and the prayer he offered in his sleep, God was pleased to answer.

When God says No

We are always encouraged when God says yes to our prayers. There are times when God says no, but of course there is always a good reason for denying us.
