Alan burnt the phone lines to talk with Xaris Waltman, folk singer/songwriter from Pensacola, FL. Xaris shares about growing up and early influences that landed her in the folk genre. Early impressions were singing/ playing in the church setting, acting in plays and musicals, and a record collection that pays homage to the early folk singers of the 50's and 60's. Xaris auditioned for 'The Voice' and flown out to Hollywood after passing several rounds on the show. After returning from the show, Xaris strung together a tour and eventually moved to Kansas, a music scene that lends itself to her genre and is based in the center of the U.S.
