This Week in Accountable Care

 
On the Wednesday, March 21st, 2012 broadcast at 11AM Pacific and 2PM Eastern, we'll examine headlines in the news and drill into some of the more interesting developments.
While we do in fact live in 'very' interesting times by anyone standards, clearly the 'elephant in the room' narrative of the Supreme Court's consideration of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, coupled with the frontal and oblique challenges to the efficacy of the 'accountable care organization' model and its prospects for success, can't be overstated.
My most recent post is titled 'They Shoot Horses Don't They?' a poignant movie from the 60s which draws from a dark metaphor of a depression era marathon dance contest and the limits of human endurance.
The connection is made in as much as some are suggesting that 'the system' is incapable of change, and the the revolution must come from without, i,e, via patients, since the special interests are too invested and addicted to the $2.7 trillion in the health care trough.
