Welcome to our insanely experimental pretend backdoor pilot for It’s It’s Britney Bitch, Bitch!, “a podcast for stans of stans, by stans of stans.” As a follow-up to last week’s chat with T. Kyle and Bradley Stern, the hosts of the It’s Britney, Bitch! podcast for Britney fans, we fall further down the internet fandom rabbit hole with our loving breakdown of their loving breakdowns. Just call us the Seinfeld2000 of Britney fandom. Or something.
Regular Pop Literacy host Jennifer Keishin Armstrong is joined by guest cohost Julie Armstrong (her sister) to discuss how It’s Britney, Bitch helped us re-evaluate parts of our fave’s career, appreciating the fearlessness of her heights and the depth of her struggles. We voice our appreciation for T. Kyle and Bradley’s nuanced breakdown of the rays of rebellious hope in Britney’s 2007 and their arguments that Britney Jean was a hack job. (Shout out to possibly the worst song ever, "Chillin' With You" feat. Jamie Lynn Spears.) Basically if you want more Britney—and more It’s Britney, Bitch!—this is your episode.
