Harry Nilsson story from Mark Hudson after Q104.3 in NYC played the world-premiere of Nilsson's "Blackbird" cover from the RCA Albums Collection box set.
Harry Nilsson – RCA Albums Collection is in stores July 30 with hundreds of songs on 17 discs. One gem among the 50+ previously unreleased tracks is a wild cover of The Beatles’ “Blackbird.” WAXQ-FM in NYC gave it a special world radio premiere on Ken Dashow’s 6/30/13 “Breakfast with the Beatles,” broadcast live from the Hard Rock Cafe, where an audience applauded loudly after hearing it for the first time. Musician/producer, Mark Hudson, a close friend of Harry’s, was a guest on the show and told this story after they played the track.
