Welcome to TV Break, where Pop Break’s Podcasts Editor Alex Marcus is joined by editor-in-chief Bill Bodkin, and TV Columnist Josh Sarnecky to talk about the happenings in television.

Here’s the format of the show:

The Best Thing I Saw on TV Last Month – Alex, Bill, & Josh talk about a show/episode/event they liked from the last month including Disney Plus’s Loki S2, Netflix’s The Fall of the House of Usher & The Great British Baking Show, Prime Video’s Gen V, and Hulu’s Spy x Family S2.

News Break – Alex, Bill, and Josh continue to urge listeners to donate to the Entertainment Community Fund as the Hollywood strike continues, before paying tribute to the life and legacy of actor Matthew Perry.

Streaming Wars – Alex, Bill, & Josh pick a streamer they think “won the month” based on new shows airing/upcoming shows announced etc. Alex & Bill both gave the month to Netflix for their great Q3 numbers; their upcoming slate of The Crown, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, & The Killer; new series like Beckham, The Fall of the House of Usher, and The Great British Baking Show; and new additions from HBO such as Six Feet Under, True Blood, & Band of Brothers.

Meanwhile, Josh gave it to Amazon’s Prime Video, thanks to a month that featured renewals for Gen V & Wheel of Time; a Crunchyroll add-on being announced; and the continued success of Thursday Night Football.

New Series Spotlight – Alex, Bill, & Josh review Lessons in Chemistry, AppleTV Plus’s new limited series starring Brie Larson as a 1950s chemist turned TV chef, based on the popular novel of the same name written by Bonnie Garmus. The series was created by Lee Eisenberg, and also stars Lewis Pullman, Aja Naomi King, Andy Daly, and among others.
