Welcome to TV Break, where Pop Break’s Podcasts Editor Alex Marcus is joined by editor-in-chief Bill Bodkin, and TV Columnist Josh Sarnecky to talk about the happenings in television.

Here’s the format of the show:

The Best Thing I Saw on TV Last Month – Alex, Bill, and Josh talk about a show/episode/event they liked from the last month including HBOMAX’s Peacemaker; HBO’s Euphoria; ABC’s Abbot Elementary;AppleTV Plus’s The Afterparty; CW’s Superman & Lois; and Netflix’s Peaky Blinders & Demonslayer.

News Break – Alex, Bill, and Josh discuss the news that Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron First, The Defenders, & The Punisher (along with Agents of SHIELD) have all moved from Netflix to Disney Plus, along with some enhanced parental controls for user profiles.

Streaming Wars – Alex, Bill, and Josh pick a streamer they think “won the month” based on new shows airing/upcoming shows announced etc. This month, Josh gives it to Disney Plus, on the heels of the Netflix series news along with their help in fueling Encanto’s utter dominance with the under 10 demo and the home viewing premieres of West Side Story & Free Guy. Meanwhile Bill throws Netflix a bone on the back of their strong awards season game this year, the debut of The Tindler Swindler & Inventing Anna; and The Adam Project trailer crashing the Big Game. Last but not least, Alex tries to give a hand to Peacock for successfully pulling off the Big Game and the Olympics while landing the rights to the Palm Springs writer’s follow up series The Resort and the hit reality series Love Island.

New Series Spotlight – Alex, Bill, and Josh watched Ben Stiller’s dystopian workplace conspiracy thriller Severance starring Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, and Dichen Lachman. Check out the three episodes now streaming on AppleTV Plus.
