Josh and Aaron Sarnecky are here for the April installment of their monthly TV retrospectives. This time they’re talking about The Legend of Korra for its 10th anniversary.

The Legend of Korra is the sequel series to the cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender. The show debuted on Nickelodeon on April 14, 2012. It ran for four seasons and a total of 52 episodes. The series ended on December 19, 2014. By the time of the series finale, new episodes were premiering on Nick.com.

The show introduces the newest Avatar, a 17-year-old girl from the Southern Water Tribe named Korra (Janet Varney). As the Avatar, it’s her job to bring peace and balance to the world. Korra’s friends include her pro-bending teammates, Mako (David Faustino) and Bolin (P.J. Byrne), the industrialist inventor Asami (Seychelle Gabriel), and her airbending teacher, Tenzin (J.K. Simmons).

Critics praised The Legend of Korra and it earned multiple awards, including a Daytime Emmy for its casting.

Aaron and Josh talk about the show’s story, characters, action, and animation. They also talk about the announcement of Avatar Studios.
