Melissa Marquez is a marine biologist who specializes in the study of sharks. Melissa has been featured on the widely popular Shark week which airs on the discovery channel. She writes for Forbes science, and has started her own foundation called Fins United Initiative which is aimed at conservation of diverse sharks through free educational tools worldwide. Melissa along with these accomplishments was also a featured speaker on a TEDx talk regarding women and Latina's in STEM and marine biology.
