Ann and Larry interview Standardbred Driver Scott Zeron, who discusses his winning drive in last week’s   Pepsi North America Cup at Woodbine Mohawk Park on ‘It’s My Show’ and why winning the race meant so much to him. Scott also discusses whether in the latter part of the stretch drive, he was concerned that he was going to get beat and how ‘It’s My Show’ ranks with some of the top horses he has had an opportunity to drive during his career. Scott also talks about why 10 years ago he decided to leave Canada and drive in the United States full time  and whether he still has any regrets moving and also whether his father Rick, who was a Trainer/Driver influenced him at all in his decision to follow a career path in harness racing. Scott is also asked what was the best advice his Father gave him when he decided to make harness racing a full time career. Scott also mentions whether he watched any of the other top Harness Drivers and did he emulate any of their driving styles when he was just breaking into the business. Woodbine Trainer Kevin Attard, who talks first about Moira and her first start a couple of weeks back at Woodbine in the Belle Mahone Stakes and whether he was disappointed in her second place finish. He also mentions about what the plans will be for racing Moira and what is the major goal for her this year. He also  discusses Sundays Alywow Stakes and his entry Last Call  and what will be the plans for this stakes winning filly this year and also discusses why you need to have a strong balance between work and family and how sometimes it becomes challenging as during  certain times of the year, the horses become 24-7. Woodbine Jockey Emma Jayne Wilson, who talks first about the current 2023 racing season, which actually began in the Winter at Gulfstream Park in Florida. She also discusses how she was riding horses when she was 9-years-old and the path she took to becoming a Jockey and also being female, was it sometimes difficult gaining acceptance as a rider.  Emma Jayne also gives her thoughts about Trainer Jena Antonucci becoming the first female Trainer to win the recent Belmont Stakes and discusses some of her potential goals for the rest of the 2023 Race Meet, including a possible ride in the King’s Plate in August. She also discusses some of the Jockey’s that she would watch to try and become a better rider. Kevin also talks about the importance of having a good work balance between training horses and a home life and how at certain times of the year it can become very challenging.

Emma Jayne initially talks about the current 2023 racing season and the importance of riding during the Winter at Gulfstream Park. She also discusses the fact that she was riding horses when she was 9-years-old and the path to becoming a Jockey at Woodbine and whether being a female rider worked against her early in her career. She also discusses Trainer Jena Antonucci becoming the first female Trainer to win the Belmont Stakes recently and why gender should not matter and also discusses some of her goals for the remainder of the 2023 racing season which hopefully will include a trip to the winner’s circle in the King’s Plate. Emma Jayne also mentions a race that she would like to win sometime in her riding career and also talks about some of the Jockey’s that she used to watch ride to help enhance her own career.
