The second GOP primary debate will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 9 p.m. at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. The two-hour debate will air live on FOX Business and Univision.

Trump plans to be absent from the debate and will instead visit Detroit to deliver a speech in front of the UAW union workers before they go on strike.

UAW President Shawn Fain on Friday morning announced new strike targets at 38 GM and Stellantis auto suppliers in 20 states, he extended an invitation for President Biden to join workers on the picket line. Several liberals including Bernie, Elizabeth Warren, Massachusetts Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman showed their solidarity with the Union workers.

The White House has issued a directive for federal agencies to prepare for a potential shutdown as House Republicans left without a clear funding plan. Speaker Kevin McCarthy aims to pass funding bills upon the House's return, but hard-right conservatives within his party, led by Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, are pushing for spending cuts. This standoff jeopardizes various government functions, including military pay and food safety.
