July's record-breaking heat raised climate concerns, confirmed by NASA and NOAA. Devastating Maui wildfires drew criticism for President Biden's delayed response. Biden briefly spoke on Thursday to the public, then spent a weekend at his Delaware beach home, staying in touch with FEMA and Hawaii's governor.


On Sunday, as he returned from the beach in Delaware and was about to enter his vehicle, where a reporter asked him if he would comment on the death toll in Maui. With a smile, he replied, "No, no comment." After silence, he briefly addressed the issue during an unrelated speech and communicated with FEMA and Hawaii's governor.
