Operation Thank an Officer started out as a simple request by Liz Gerads, mother of two and wife of a Minnesota police officer. After learning that her husband had never received a thank you note, she asked for people to send thank you notes that she could pass along to officers in the Wright County, Minnesota Sheriffs Department. Soon people from all over the country sent in letters. Operation Thank an Officer has received over 20,000 notes and cards and have been distributed to precincts across the country. Additionally, Operation Thank an Officer has a scholarship program and memorial fund. Click here to learn more and donate.
In this podcast, we talk to Liz about protests she's been seeing in Minnesota and Operation Thank an Officer's programs. Brett also gives his tips for getting out of a ticket.
