On Parliament Hill, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh renews his call for increased federal investments in the health-care system, with a particular focus on the hiring of more front-line medical workers. Caroline Cochrane, the premier of the Northwest Territories, holds a virtual news conference ahead of her working meeting on health-care funding with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on February 7. Provinces and territories have been pushing for the federal government to increase its share of funding through the Canada Health Transfer (CHT) from 22 per cent to 35 per cent.
