Episode 45 - Points and Penalties

We're a man down in episode 45, Pete is driving to Newfoundland to witness the birth of his first born child or something like that... dude needs to get his priorities straight! Not to worry Josh, Jesse & kev have it covered. 

A mid season firing and a conditional draft pick that's about to be secured from a previous blockbuster trade kicks off the NFL segment. Then the race for the top and the bottom of the lock of the week gets a little closer. Could anyone still win the lock of the week? Mathematically yes, realistically... it's a two horse race. 

On the hardcourt, the Warriors beat the red hot Suns to start the year at 18-2 and are off to their best start since the 73-9 season in 15-16 that they lost in the finals to Cleveland, is this a bad omen for Josh's Larry O'Brien winner prediction? Probably not, since they matched their first 20 record from the 14-15 season in which they won it all. It's not all fun and games through the NBA though, as the league cracks down on the Bulls & Heat for violating free agency timing rules, does the punishment fit the crime?

An entire team takes the MVP this week, and they aren't even the best team in the league... far from it as a matter of fact. 

The great eight hits a major milestone on the road to Gretzky's goals record and seems to be getting better and better in his old age. Player safety hands out a few deserved suspensions and the Leafs away winning streak comes to an end but Papi is heating up and has his own streak going. 

More signings and trades as the MLB enters a lockout for the first time since 94-95... the Jays would have three peated that year, you know it's true! The guys gaze into ye olde crystal ball and let you know when the lockout is going to end. But that's not the only ball being used, turns out the MLB used two different balls this season. 

A few games in the NWHL start off the other sports this week, but the big stories are on the gridiron this week 100 and 110 yard fields. Collegiate level championship games were held in the NCAA this weekend as we discuss the winners in each conference and up North the Ti-Cats will have home field advantage as the Gray cup matchup is set against the Blue Bombers.
