In this chapter of the Word Weaver Podcast, I share my top five tips for how to write a strong opening chapter. The first sentence, paragraph, and pages set the tone for the rest of your book. The opening chapter is the first thing that literary agents, publishers, and readers will see once they pick up your book. Along with my top tips, this chapter explains the difference between a preface, prologue, and foreward. We will also dissect the opening sentences of the first two Harry Potter books.
For those keen listeners, I exclusively share the opening sentences for the Preface and First Chapter of my forthcoming non-fiction book.
