Writer Tom Lorenzo joins us to tear apart Universal Soldier: The Return, a sequel that never should have been made.

After an alright first film, and two made-for-television disasters, the Universal Soldier franchise seemed to be dead in the water. So why was 45 million dollars thrown at a sequel? Must have been a pretty great script, right? Wrong. Universal Soldier: The Return is an absolute mess, and there is plenty for us to discuss when it comes to the questionable choices made at every turn, but this stinker of a movie mostly acts as the perfect diving board for conversations on the decline of the action movie genre, Jean-Claude Van Damme's career (and macho-man actors in general), and how a great B-Movie concept can be squandered on a forgettable film.
