The Boom Show Podcast Episode 008 is live on iTunes, Stitcher Radio, and Archive.org! You can also find us on Facebook. As always a big thanks to Overcoast Music for co-hosting and recording the show!

This episode we discuss Secretly Ya’ll, a Richmond VA based storytelling event with one of it’s founders, Kathleen Brady. We chat about it’s history, the nuances of storytelling, and the myriad of reasons why people like to do it. We also review their latest event, “Secretly Y’all and Death Club Radio Present: Sick, Dead, Dying & Letting Go”, which was cohosted by Death Club Radio, a radio show on the local low-power fm radio station, WRIR 97.3 FM.

Secretly Ya’ll is an event of true unscripted storytelling. It is split into two halves with the first section featuring storytellers who pre-submitted stories that were selected, and the second half has a “name in the hat” segment, where you will get called up if they pull your name. The stories all have to be real, no notes, and 7 minutes or less. To find out more information on how to participate, please check out their website, www.secretlyall.com.
