In an article on church engagement in the 21st century, Lena Kelly in January of this year, wrote about how technology can be harnessed to improve engagement with your church's members. Americans report that the importance of religion hasn't dropped over the past few decades. That it's not a lack of faith in Jesus Christ Himself, but that there has been a decline in attendance.

Much of it can be attributed to overbooked calendars and competing priorities. We have signed ourselves and our families up for so many overlapping activities that we lose control of much of our days. Their suggestion to stay relevant the modern church must begin to reassess the way it connects with its community. Their suggestion is to use technology to live stream their services. They say that many churches report an increase in congregation size after streaming their services and that many of their new members find them online before ever visiting in person.
