Style Files: Episode 25 - Cream Ale

In this episode Bob and I stay home in the U.S. and follow the Blonde Ale with the Cream Ale. The American cream ale is a mild, pale, light-bodied ale, made using a warm fermentation (top or bottom fermenting yeast) and cold lagering. Despite being called an ale, when being judged in competitions it is acceptable for brewers to use lager yeast.

ABV: 4.2-5.6%

IBUs: 8-20

Color: 2-5

Serving Temp: 40-45F

Serving Pressure: 10-12 PSI

Beer Description: This straw colored cream ale is made with the choicest ingredients and aged for like a day. This beer is dedicated to an old watering hole in Seven Hills, OH where the beer was cheap and Genesee beer flowed like water.
