There has been a lot of controversy around fake tanning and a lot of myths have been created out it. In today’s podcast you’ll learn if fake tans are indeed bad for you and your skin or if applied it properly doesn’t do much harm.
Is fake tan bad for me? To answer this question you have to keep in mind that what makes the fake tan work is an ingredient called DHA and it reacts with the amino acids and top dead layer of your skin turning it brown. When you expose yourself in a sunbed by receiving the UVA and UVB you could very well be risking skin cancer. When you breathe DHA (the key ingredient in fake tans) there are risks, so it’s not ideal to be exposed and inhale that substance. Beware of organic fake tans. Even though they claim to be organic and most of their ingredients are “clean”, they cannot work without DHA. Nothing But The Truth.
