Show Notes

[1:55] Background: Jimbo had a super nostalgia boner and this show was Drew’s first and forever X-Men.

[4:00] Sixty Sec Summary: Jubilee finds and learns about the X-Men prior to being contained by the Mutant Control Agency. The show ends on a cliffhanger with the X-Men trying to save Jubilee.

[5:41] High Points: Balanced showing and telling. Character design, everyone had their own look. Diversity of characters and personalities. Mutant metaphor.

[16:09] Low Points: Potential low point, comic book dialogue (cool for kids). Hostile work environment, and SWAT style strike team.

[20:55] Crabman Award: Drew nominated the sneaky Sentinels, with so much thigh definition. Jimbo nominated Sabertooth. Crabman award by unanimous decision goes to Sabertooth.

[26:22] MVPs: Jimbo called out the storytelling. Drew found a way to sing the X-Men theme song three times in two episodes.

[34:27] Dangling Threads of Interest: Bringing Marvel mainstream. X-Men #1 by Jim Lee. Tolerance and show’s influence on morality. Wolverine’s claws and standards and practices. Serialized cartoon/kids show.

[46:27] Watch or Rewatch: Qualified rewatch, especially if it was easier to access.

[48:28] To Hoist or Not to Hoist?: Super not hoist by unanimous decision.

[49:52] Petardar:
