Shaun Joffe is a researcher, weightlifting coach, and lecturer at St. Mary’s University. He’s just started his academic journey after a long stint in S&C and has already managed to produce some great research.

In this podcast we discuss two publications, both looking at different aspects of the pull and particular performance variables associated with each. We explain why coaches should possibly start incorporating more work in the start position, particularly deadlifts. We also take a few twists and turns, discussing exercise selection, periodization, and biggest lessons learned.

This was a fantastic show and I hope you all enjoy our deep dive into some high quality research that’s been done by Shaun and his collaborators.

Enjoy.
