After immense public backlash to the City's attempts to turn a Japan-town hotel into homeless housing, the same plan was easily approved less than a mile away. 


Now, San Francisco's Board of Supervisors is dedicating over $30 million to turn the former Gotham Hotel on Turk street into permanent supportive housing.
