I have been really looking forward to getting this episode uploaded for you guys to listen to! Today's epsiode features the wonderful Nicola Vosser! Nicola is Chealsea and Westminster's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust's ePMA Lead Directorate Pharmacist and the first pharmacist on the podcast with a full-time IT related pharmacy role. She has lead a team to implement ePMA (Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration) across two hospitals sites, sharing the Cerner domain and drug catalogue with Imperial College Hospital Trust (ICHT). Though an exciting experience to be part of, it raises a whole set of challenges and problem solving skills in her day-to-day work life. We spend time sharing the "thrills" of project management in the world of pharmacy IT and the satisfaction you get when systems, processes, and daily life for healthcare professionals using the system become so much more efficient and user-friendly.
Prior to working as an ePMA pharmacist, she was a passionate Women's and Children's Pharmacist and Resident Pharmacist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. She loved her clinical role and was intrigued about the idea of implementing those skills into a IT related role and decided to take on a secondment for a year to try it out! She clearly loved the job and what it had to offer and hasn't looked back ever since.
