Kathryn has been a member of the pharmacy profession for just under 30 years. She's had a vast array of experience as a pharmacist, worked internationally in New Zealand at the School of Pharmacy, University of Otago, New Zealand, and currently working as the clinical trials pharmacist at Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust.

Kathryn has dedicated a lot of her time to research and education with several publications. Topics include paediatric parenteral nutrition, the management of patients after an acute ischaemic stroke, and the use of automated compounding devices.

Outside of pharmacy she is passionate about running, cycling, sailing, baking and singing! During our discussion, she also talks about battling through several major episodes of depression. At one point, she was unable to get out of bed to go to work and felt that she couldn't do something that she genuinely loves. She quickly realises that she has a problem and finds solutions to feel better and live a happier life.

She’s currently completing a 500in50 lockdown challenge to raise money for @pharmasupport. Rather than driving into France, she's currently walking, running, & cycling the 500 miles between Cardiff & the Loire Valley in the 10 weeks running up to her 50th birthday. You can donate via her Just Giving page.
