PEG INTERVIEWS Swedish Singer Songwriter SIRI Svegler

BIO

Her Voice: one moment hauntingly melancholic and poetically fragile, the next, powerful and energetic but always crystal-clear. Her Sound: a mix of dreamy, folky, jazzy, indie pop, full of soul, magic and a little bit of mystery, just like the singer herself – this is Siri Svegler, the Swedish Singer-Songwriter who’s first two albums “Silent Viewer” and “Lost & Found” received glowing reviews and gained a lot of international recognition and awards, including the VW Soundfoundation award for best newcomer POP, hand-picked by legendary SEAL and Best Album at the German Rock/Pop Awards (Deutsche Rock Pop Preis).

Her songs have been extensively used for films, commercials and TV and Siri writes and collaborates with a great variety of international artists and DJ’s like Moonbootica, Johnwaynes, Lorenzo Al Dino and Shahrokh Dini and MasterCris to name a few. Remixes of her songs can be found on many compilations.

With the most recent single “No Need To Define” a new chapter has begun and Siri sets the tone of what’s to come: her third album “Awake” – planned for release in September 2019.

“Awake” contains thirteen of her own, new, original songs and it’s her first album that is not named after a song on the album, but is more of a feeling and a reflection on an ongoing spiritual and emotional journey, a journey of awakening, eager to express itself through melodies, singing and words.

“It’s waking up to the fact that it’s ok to embrace and love the shadow aspects of ourselves and others as much as the light. Waking up to the fact that feelings are sometimes uncomfortable, painful or confusing and that that’s ok, and that we’re ok for feeling them. Waking up to the fact that we are all just human, and that it’s impossible to go through life without experiencing pain in someway, sometimes even causing it. We all make mistakes, we hurt or we get hurt, and in the end, as trite or banal as it may sound; love will save the day. The key is acceptance and learning to forgive and letting things go with love. That is sometimes easier said than done and the learning process can be a bit of a rocky road. But rocky roads are ok too. And they also tend to keep you somewhat awake…”
