Closure of the Household Waste Recycling Centre on Bedford Road is one option floated in the Hampshire County Council consultation on future services provision.

The rising cost of providing statutory services means the council needs to make huge cuts to balance its budget.

Shine Radio asks local people how a closure of the Petersfield facility would affect them, and we hear from County Councillor Russell Oppenheimer who has pledged to do whatever he can to keep the centre open.

The Shine Radio reporters are Maggie Buckley and Stephen Martin.

The consultation is open until 2359 on Sunday 31 March 2024. You can read about it and take part at https://hampshirecc.welcomesyourfeedback.net/s/FSC
