After 2,000 nurses walked off the job on Wednesday, WA Health Minister Amber Jade Sanderson has reinforced that the government is continuing negotiations in order to to come to an agreement on a final wages offer.

"There's no doubt that our nursing staff in our public health system are highly regarded and skilled and essential to the running of our health system so we are in negation with them and we've had three meetings with the ANF and we call on them to continue these negotiations," she told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live.

"We are very seriously working through thier log of claims and will very seriously consider anything that improve the working conditions for nurses."

Amber Jade Sanderson stated the 'Revised Wages Policy' is more generous than other states around Australia and is the government's final wages offer.

"There are other claims that the Nurses Union is working through and we are looking at these very seriously, one of those is staffing levels in hospitals."

"I would say to nurses to come back to the bargaining table, we will get the best outcomes there and not through industrial action."
